Believing God
for a Child

A Word for You

Whether you are praying for conception, walking through infertility, waiting with hope after disappointment, or trusting God in a season that has taken longer than you ever imagined — this page was written for you. Your longing is not lost on God. The desire of your heart for a child is something He placed there, and He is not indifferent to it.

The Bible is filled with women who waited — who prayed, who wept, who held on when holding on felt impossible. And in God’s time, in ways only He could orchestrate, He answered. He is the same God today. His arm has not shortened. His ability to do what He has promised has not diminished. And nothing — not a medical report, not the passing of time, not any circumstance — is too hard for the Lord.

These promises are yours. Stand on them. Pray them. Speak them. Let them be the foundation under your feet while you wait for the answer that is coming.

Foundation Scripture
“He settles the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. Praise the Lord!”
— Psalm 113:9

God is the one who settles. Who places. Who fulfills. This is not a vague comfort — it is a declaration of what He does for those who bring their empty arms to Him.

God’s Heart for Those Who Are Waiting

God sees the tears. He sees the appointments, the waiting rooms, the negative tests, the hope that rises and then falls. He is not standing at a distance from your pain — He is close to the brokenhearted, and He is near to you in this season of waiting.

Waiting on God is not passive. It is one of the most active, faith-filled things a believer can do. It says: I believe You are working even when I cannot see it. I trust Your timing even when mine would be different. I hold onto Your promise even when circumstances say otherwise. That kind of faith moves the heart of God. And the God who opened wombs throughout Scripture has not changed. He is still Jehovah-Jireh — the Lord who provides — and He sees your need.

Scripture Promises for You
Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
His Promise God’s plans for your life — including your family — are plans for good. He is not withholding something good from you out of indifference. His plans include a hope and a future, and He knows exactly what that looks like.
Genesis 21:1–2
“Now the Lord was gracious to Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for Sarah what He had promised. Sarah became pregnant and bore a son to Abraham in his old age.”
His Promise God did for Sarah what He had promised — in His time, by His power, against every human impossibility. What He did for Sarah, He can do for you. He is still the God who keeps His word.
Luke 1:37
“For nothing will be impossible with God.”
His Promise Nothing. Not age, not medical diagnosis, not years of waiting. The word nothing leaves no room for exceptions. This promise was spoken to a young woman being told she would conceive the impossible — and it stands for you too.
Hebrews 10:23
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.”
His Promise Hold unswervingly — not loosely, not occasionally, but without wavering. The reason you can hold on is not the strength of your faith. It is the faithfulness of the One who made the promise. He does not forget. He does not fail.
Psalm 37:4–5
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act.”
His Promise The desire you carry for a child is known to God. When you commit your way to Him — fully, openly, holding nothing back — He acts. Not maybe. He will act. Trust is the open hand that receives what He is ready to give.
Isaiah 40:31
“Those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”
His Promise Waiting on God is not weakness — it is the place where strength is renewed. When the waiting exhausts you, He exchanges your weariness for His strength. You will not faint in this season. He is sustaining you.
Romans 15:13
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
His Promise He is the God of hope — not the God of maybe, not the God of sometimes. Hope that overflows is available to you right now, by the power of the Holy Spirit, as you trust Him in this waiting season.
Philippians 4:6–7
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
His Promise Bring your specific request — the longing for a child, the fear, the questions — to God with thanksgiving. In doing so, His peace stands guard over your heart. Not just comfort. Peace that transcends what your mind can reason through.
James 1:17
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
His Promise A child is a gift from above. And the Father who gives good gifts does not change. He is not moved by circumstances, by timelines, or by what seems impossible. He is constant, and His gifts come from that constancy.
Psalm 127:3
“Children are a heritage from the Lord, offspring a reward from Him.”
His Promise Children originate with God — they are His heritage, His reward to give. The one you are believing for is already known to Him. He is the giver of this gift, and He knows exactly when and how it comes.
Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”
His Promise Every life is precious and known by God before it begins. The child you are praying for is already known to Him — already seen, already loved, already held in His mind and heart. He is not unaware of this life.
Isaiah 66:9
“Do I bring to the moment of birth and not give delivery?” says the Lord.
His Promise God does not begin something and leave it unfinished. He does not bring you to the edge of a promise and then withhold the fulfillment. What He has initiated, He completes.
Genesis 18:14
“Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
His Promise God asked this question to a woman who had stopped believing the promise was possible. He asks it to you today. Your answer to that question is your foundation for everything else you are believing Him for.
Mark 9:23
“Everything is possible for one who believes.”
His Promise Everything. Jesus did not say some things or likely things. Everything is possible for one who believes. Your faith — even imperfect, even mixed with tears — is the open door for His power to move.
Matthew 7:7
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
His Promise Ask. Keep asking. Seek. Keep seeking. Knock. Keep knocking. This is persistent, believing prayer — the kind that does not give up. And the promise attached to it is not maybe — it is it will be given.
Psalm 84:11
“No good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”
His Promise God is not withholding from you. A child is a good thing — and He does not withhold good things. Trust His timing without interpreting His silence as refusal. He is working even now.
Romans 8:28
“In all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
His Promise Even the hard seasons — the disappointments, the waiting, the unanswered prayers — are being woven into something good by His hand. All things. Not some. He wastes nothing and abandons no one.
Lamentations 3:22–23
“His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
His Promise Every morning you wake up in this season of waiting, His compassions are made fresh for that day. He does not run out of mercy. He does not grow weary of your prayer. Great is His faithfulness — including in this.
Ephesians 3:20
“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us.”
His Promise What He has for you exceeds what you have asked and what you can imagine. Do not limit your expectation to what seems medically or naturally possible. He operates in the immeasurably more — and He is at work within you right now.
Women in Scripture Who Waited — and Received
You are not the first woman to bring empty arms before God and believe for a child. Scripture records their stories so that you would know: He has done this before. He can do it again.
Sarah
Waited decades past the age of natural possibility. God fulfilled His promise and she bore Isaac — the child of laughter — in her old age. What God promises, He performs regardless of human impossibility.
Genesis 21
Rebekah
Waited twenty years for children. Isaac prayed to the Lord on her behalf — and God answered his prayer. Your husband’s prayer, your family’s prayer, is heard by the same God.
Genesis 25:21
Rachel
Cried out to God from a place of deep anguish and longing. Then God remembered Rachel — He opened her womb and she conceived. God remembers. He has not forgotten you.
Genesis 30:22
Hannah
Wept bitterly before the Lord year after year. She poured out her soul in prayer and made a vow of faith. God heard, remembered, and she bore Samuel — one of Israel’s greatest prophets. Your tears are not wasted before Him.
1 Samuel 1–2
Manoah’s Wife
She was barren — and then an angel of the Lord appeared with a promise. Out of barrenness came Samson, a man set apart for God’s purposes. God can send an unexpected word at an unexpected moment.
Judges 13
Elizabeth
Called barren by the world and well past childbearing age. But she was filled with the Holy Spirit and bore John the Baptist — the one who prepared the way for Jesus. With God, nothing is too late and no one is too far beyond hope.
Luke 1
God’s Game Plan — How to Wait with Faith
  1. Pray Specifically and Persistently Bring your request before God with specificity — not just Lord, give me a child, but Father, I am trusting You for this. I believe You can do what medicine cannot. I ask You to open the way. Then keep asking. Matthew 7:7 is a command to persistence, not a one-time petition. (Matthew 7:7, Philippians 4:6)
  2. Speak the Promises Aloud Choose three or four scriptures from this page and speak them aloud daily — over yourself, over your body, over your marriage. Nothing will be impossible with God. He settles the childless woman. He opens wombs. Let God’s Word be louder than the medical report or the calendar. (Luke 1:37, Psalm 113:9)
  3. Find Your Story in Scripture Read the full accounts of Hannah, Sarah, Rachel, and Elizabeth. Sit in their stories. Pray their prayers. Let their faith become a bridge for yours. God did not put their stories in His Word to be interesting history — He put them there for you, for this moment. (1 Samuel 1–2, Genesis 21)
  4. Guard Your Heart Against Despair Waiting is hard. Disappointment is real. But guard against the agreement that says it will never happen. Every time despair speaks, answer it with Isaiah 40:31 and Romans 15:13. You are allowed to grieve the hard moments — and then return to hope. Both are true at once. (Isaiah 40:31, Romans 15:13)
  5. Trust His Timing and His Ways God’s timing is not always our timing — but it is always perfect. Every woman in Scripture who waited received her answer in a way she could not have engineered herself. Commit your way to Him. Trust that He sees the full picture, that He loves you, and that what He begins He finishes. (Psalm 37:4–5, Hebrews 10:23)
A Prayer for You

Father, I come to You with arms that long to hold a child. You know this desire — You placed it in me — and I trust that You see me in this season of waiting. I bring my faith and my tears to You together, because both are real and both belong before You.

I stand on Your Word today. Nothing is impossible with You. You opened the wombs of Sarah, of Rachel, of Hannah, of Elizabeth — women who waited, women who wept, women whose stories You wrote into Scripture so that I would know You are the same God today. I believe that You are the same God for me.

Renew my strength as I wait on You. Fill me with the hope that only You can give — hope that overflows by the power of Your Spirit, peace that guards my heart when the waiting is hard, and faith that holds unswervingly to Your promise because You are faithful. I commit this desire to You completely. I trust Your timing. I trust Your ways. And I thank You in advance for what You are already working toward on my behalf.

You settle the childless woman in her home as a happy mother of children. I receive that promise. I stand on it. And I wait for You — with hope, not despair, because You are the God of hope.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
A Good Word for You

Your longing is not lost on God. He sees the desire of your heart, He knows the length of your waiting, and He is not indifferent to a single prayer you have prayed. The same God who remembered Sarah, who heard Hannah’s cry, who opened Elizabeth’s womb when the world had written her off — He is your God today.

Nothing is too hard for Him. No timeline is too long. No report is final when He speaks. Hold on to His promises. Keep praying. Keep believing. And know that this ministry is standing with you, praying for you by name even if we do not know it — because God does. He always has.

This ministry prays daily for every person who finds their way to these pages. You did not arrive here by accident. God had these words ready for you today.
