Did you know God wants to speak to you and give you a Word that will give insight, wisdom and direction each day of your life? A Word is simply God speaking to you that is relevant and timely.

Jeremiah 33:3 “Call upon me and I will answer and show you things you don’t know.”

My mother, Betty Mills said when she prayed for direction, or a specific word, she would ask God to speak to her clearly. She prayed for a ‘green light or a red light’ when it came to answers. Yes, let’s do this (green light) or no, now is not a good time, or absolutely not. (red light)

She always told me growing up that God says to pray and call on Him, He isn’t going to make it hard on you to find Him.

She believed we could, “take God at His Word.” Scripturally this is true.

If you are making a decision or are in a place where you aren’t sure what to do, these simple things can help move you closer to an answer.

Pray, seek by reading God’s Word, listen to faith filled messages, and then expect the answer to come.

Prayer “God I need your help. I need you to show me, speak to me, help me, direct and guide me.”

Then position yourself to hear. Shut off the distractions and noise if possible –

Isaiah 30:21, says “You will hear a word behind you saying this is the way, walk in it.”

Ask God to show you a scripture, or an article, a video, teaching sermon or message that has answers in it. Be mindful that when you pray and ask, He will answer.

Know that God wants to speak to you. He is not holding out. He isn’t going to go opposite of what He promises in His Word.

He promises to answer you when you call on Him (Jeremiah 33:3)

He promises to help you and strengthen you. (Isaiah 41:10)

He promises that He has good plans for you, not for evil (Jeremiah 29:11) and not disastrous plans for you. According to John 10:10, the Bible says “the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy. But I have come to give life and life more abundantly.”

In conclusion, God promises to never leave you nor forsake you. He wants you to draw closer to Him.

This is where you are able to hear His voice.

Joshua 1:5 “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.”

Hear God speak

We believe God’s Words are for us today as much as they were for men in the Bible days. He speaks to us through His Words.

Romans 10:17 – So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Matthew 7:24, “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock.”

John 10:27, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

John 14:26, “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”

Psalm 119:105, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

2 Timothy 3:16,17, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

Psalm 145:18,19, “The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.”

2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in Him are “yes”; and in Him “amen” unto the glory of God by us.

His Words point to Him being trustworthy. That what He promised He meant. He will do what He says He will do.

Today is a good day to call on the Lord, pray to Him, tell Him what you need.
