Did you know that God has given you faith? You have it.
The truth is according to the Word of God, we have all been given a ‘measure of faith.’
Romans 12:3, “but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
‘This is incredible news for each believer.
Did you know as believers we often stand in front of what God has given us like a teenager in front of a refrigerator and say ‘I’m so hungry,’ and yet what we need is right there. It’s inside the refrigerator. We have to open the door and take it for it to nourish us.
God provides us what we need. We have to take what God has given each of us. Salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Salvation brings a new life, forgiveness, redemption, a new future, and faith!
Where is Faith found in man. It can be found in the heart, the mind and thoughts, the spirit of a man.
Interestingly God’s Word says that we have all been given a ‘measure of faith.” Romans 12:3 “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
The Bible also says in Romans 10:17 “So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
Faith is given by measure, and can be increased by what we hear as the scripture above refers to. Our capacity to have strong faith is available by what we choose to hear.
Faith is very important because God responds to faith. He responds to the faithful believer who trusts in Him. Faith is found in the heart and spirit of a man.
Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
We put our hope in Jesus Christ the Son of God. We have not seen Him yet we believe.
Think about this, our faith is found in our heart and in our spirit. But it comes out of our mouth.
When we speak, when we pray and when we wait on the Lord to respond to our prayers.
The most important thing for us as believers is that we speak what we believe.
Romans 10:8 “The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is the word of faith which we preach.”
Luke 6:45 “Out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.”
Psalm 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in Thy sight.”
Psalm 141:3,4 “Set a watch o Lord before my mouth; keep the door of my lips and incline not my heart to any evil thing.”
Psalm 116:10 “I believed (in my heart) therefore have I spoken (with my mouth.)
Psalm 40:8,9 “Thy law is within my heart, I have not refrained my lips.”
Psalm 49:3 “My mouth shall speak of wisdom and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.”
Psalm 27:8 “When thou saids seek ye my face, my heart said unto thee the face Lord will I seek.”
Proverbs 23:15,16 “If thine heart be wise thy lips speak right things.”
Acts 2:26 “Therefore did my heart rejoice and my tongue was glad; moreover my flesh shall rest in hope.”
God is giving us directions to have faith in Him. Psalm 27:13 “I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.”
2 Corinthians 4:13 “We, having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written: “I believed and therefore have I spoken” — we also believe and therefore speak,”
The protocol then as shown in God’s Word is have faith, and then believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. How we believe determines how we speak. Faith comes by hearing, and fear also comes by hearing. We can speak faith because we purposely listen to faith building words, messages and worship. Fear can also easily enter our hearts by what we listen to on a daily basis.
Faith speaks and fear speaks.
But our faith is in God. Mark 11:22 Jesus Himself told us to “Have faith in God.”
Final thoughts-
Be strategic in what you hear, think on and what you speak. It all matters.
God specifically directs us how to believe (Believe all things are possible.)
(Scriptures compiled by Dick Mills and Deborah (Mills) Booth)
God knows we face difficult situations yet He says in His Word ‘believe.’ There is a reason. He knew that trials and tribulations would come. He also knew that if our hearts were filled with the “God kind of Faith’ we would not be shaken but we would hold steady because our faith is in Him.
We believe and we know all things are possible through Him. Jesus Christ our Lord and our Savior.
All the Glory to God,
