Did you know that even though the world is in turmoil, and there is chaos, that you do not need to be shaken and ultimately give up? In fact, God’s Word gives this direction – “Don’t be shaken.”
“Yes, the circumstances that shake you are real and unavoidable. They are happening right now, and you can’t ignore them. However, God reassures us, ‘Do not be shaken.’”
How is this possible?
By anchoring yourself in the Lord, in His Word and HIs promises.
Think of an anchor. An anchor holds a ship or vessel to a foundation. The storm happens, waves and winds that are often beyond description, yet the anchor does what it is meant to do.
I Corinthians 15:58, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (NKJV)
Psalm 62:2, “He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”
This scripture 2 Thessalonians 2:2 is pivotal to us as believers, “That you be not soon SHAKEN in mind or be troubled, neither by spirit nor by word nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.”
We are anchored in Him. An anchor is not shaken or upset at the storm or the waves.
An anchor does what it was created to do. It holds steady.
We hold steady because again, we are anchored in Him. His presence, His power, His Word. He is the trustworthy one, therefore His Words can be trusted, and we anchor ourselves in the anchor of His presence, His power and His Word.
Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”
