Have you ever prayed and wondered when your prayer would be answered? What the hold-up is? God says in His Word “it will be done.”

Excerpt from Dick Mills book “The Spirit Filled Believer’s Daily Devotional” which is available HERE

John 15:7, “If you abide in Me and My Words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.”
It will be done.
“This verse points out the benefits of abiding in the Lord and of His Words abiding in us. This word abide suggests taking up residence in a place for the purpose of making it a permanent home. As believers, our true homeland is the Kingdom of God, which is spiritual, not material. The kingdom is within us. “(Luke 17:21)
“The Lord’s words which are to abide in us, in addition to written Scriptures, are His Rhema, His utterances, HIs spoken words to us personally and individually. Hearing these words spoken directly to us into our own ears by the Spirit of God is the basis for guidance and confident assurance of our praying.”

“The key to answered prayer is knowing what to ask for. That knowledge comes from hearing the Rhema (the Voice) of God personally, speaking the Word to us by His Spirit.”
Romans 10:17, “Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ. ”
What does this mean? God’s Word will abide in you and take residence when you put it there. Similar to if you went to a store, purchased furniture, brought it home and then sat in it, slept on it, and used it in your home, every day. You are putting the furniture in your home physically to use.
God’s Word is meant to be read, believed, trusted.

Psalm 145:13, “Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is trustworthy in all He promises and faithful in all He does.”
God is meant to be heard, believed, trusted.
Abide-to abide or to continue to dwell. (Merriam-Webster definition)
God is showing us the protocol for praying, asking and requesting. Dwelling in His Kingdom, the Kingdom of God.
First, we abide in Him, ask Him to be our Savior. Our Lord. We are believers in Jesus Christ our Savior.
Then secondly, as we come to know Him, know His character we can pray to Him and ask for what we need.

He says we can.
Today, take Him at His Word. Make Him Lord of your heart. Ask Him to come in.
Psalm 5:3, “In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you
and wait expectantly.”
Remember, sin always blocks the door that the Lord would enter in. Daily get your heart cleansed so that He has room to come and be with you. Repenting of sin is simply asking God to forgive you and for you to say you are sorry.
Dick Mills often said, “our job is clean hands and a pure heart.” It is our responsibility to manage our spiritual lives, to repent, and give the Lord a place He can abide.
