Hello everyone! Here are some wonderful scriptures and promises on ‘New Things.’
In Isaiah 48:6 He says “I have showed you ‘new things’ from this time even hidden things and you didn’t know them. Created now, not from the beginning, lest you should say ‘I knew it.’”
Sameness begets Tameness
My father Dick Mills had a saying he would often use while speaking “sameness begets tameness, and tameness begets lameness.” It revolved around predictability and generic living. HIs point often was that God is the God of the prophetic, miracles and ‘new things’. That God’s divine power never fits into a man-made box.
It is a wonderful thing to see God move in people’s lives. When people experience the presence of God and are deeply moved it is sometimes referred to as a ‘new thing.’
As Christian believers we see God moving, answering prayers, doing the miraculous and touching people in their lives like only He can do. A change happens.
The NIV version of Isaiah 48:6 says “From now on I will tell you of new things, of hidden things unknown to you, they are created now and not long ago. You have not heard of them before today, so you cannot say ‘yes I knew of them.“
I have talked to countless believers who have told me a story how they were heading one way, plans and jobs picked out and decided on and then God moved in their lives and things changed. God had in mind a ‘New Thing.’
Good Plan
My husband had a good plan. He had planned to go to one college and get a degree in an area, and at the last moment the Lord very clearly directed him to Oral Roberts University and that is where he met me. Our lives were directed towards one another.
I had had no plans on going to college until my last year of high school, because I had been traveling all over the world with my parents with Dick Mills Ministries. the last year God very clearly directed me to Oral Roberts University.
Here we are all these years later following God’s plan to fulfill destiny that was started early on in my life.
God has a ‘New Thing’ in store for you.
He is not done with you nor is your story complete. There is more to your story. Do not quit right now at the place you are and tell yourself, ‘if it was going to happen it would have.’
No, there is more.
Isaiah 43:18,19, “Do not remember the former things, Nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, Now, it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert.”
“Lord again, we pray for ‘new things’ that You have in store for us to come to pass. We let go of the things that hold us back, keep us from moving forward with you. Lord we let go, we forgive, we deliberately choose not to remember what has happened, but rather we look to what WILL happen. The New Things that you have in store for us.
In the mighty powerful name above every name….Jesus. We pray all these things Amen”.
